Dare to Adventure

I know that there is not very many people that enjoy the snowfall, at least not around here. However, if you gather up the courage (and the layers) to endure the cold, winter and snowfall produce some amazing scenery.

Every weekend, I try to venture out into the wilderness for a least a few hours. Even on days when it’s in the single digits, with enough layers on and decent boots I manage to stay warm (also helps to keep moving)! Load up my backpack with a fleece blanket, a drink, binoculars, and grab my camera bag then I’m off to the woods!

The woods are a great place to take unique pictures in the winter, especially when big snow plumes cling to the branches of all the trees! Trees are not the only thing in the woods either! Over the past few weeks I’ve been analyzing and photographing the tracks and habits of all the woodland creatures. From the most common deer and raccoons, to the more majestic minks, fisher cats, and red fox!

There are so many great ways to enjoy the beauty of winter in nature. Whether you like snowboarding and skiing in the mountains, reeling in the freshest catch through the ice, or hiking in the woods tracking all that moves. Winter is just one of the four seasons we enjoy here in Pennsylvania, so it’s best to learn how to make the best of it!
