Music City - Nashville, TN

Eating dinner at the fine dining Italian restaurant, inside the Gaylord Opryland Resort Atrium

We traveled to the booming city of Nashville, Tennessee back in 2019. We had an awesome stay and wish that we had more time to explore this massive city. While planning any of our vacations one of the hardest obstacles to conquer is finding a nice hotel that is dog-friendly since we bring our little Sebastian with us everywhere. We were so fortunate to find out The Hermitage Hotel is completely dog-friendly and immediately booked a room! Nashville is among one of the most dog-friendly cities in the United States. Home of the Country Music Hall of Fame Nashville is always buzzing with music of new up and coming musicians. You can find these talented musicians at every single honky tonk that lines Broadway. These massive bars feature great entertainment, mouthwatering food from exotic sushi to southern BBQ.

The Hermitage Hotel

I literally can’t say enough about The Hermitage Hotel, we had such and amazing time during our stay there. As a carpenter I was just in awe of the architecture when we entered the lobby the first night. The beautiful marble pillars, ornamental plaster accenting the ceilings. Since I’m an early riser, I would grab my morning coffee, sit in the lobby and just admire the skill and artistry of the lobby.

The cool factor doesn’t stop with the lobby. The Hermitage Hotel is also very famous for the historical speakeasy that operated in the basement during prohibition, as well as the entrance to this speakeasy which routed guests through the art-deco mens restroom!

The Hermitage Hotel Men’s Restroom

This restroom is still operational and open to the public, men and women. The old shoeshine stations are a popular place for a memorable picture of visitors!

Super Pet Friendly

The Hermitage Hotel is not only one of the oldest, coolest, most elegant hotels in Nashville, the are also super pet friendly! They don’t even have a weight or number limit! Bring your pooch along for a great family experience. Nashville is a very dog-friendly city as almost every restaurant has outdoor, patio, or rooftop seating! Even if you want to plan a day that isn’t dog-friendly, The Hermitage Hotel has you covered with doggy day care! Your pooch gets an all out spa day at the hotel, while you and your family explore the towns interesting excursions like the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Johnny Cash Musuem! Worried about where your dog can do their business? No problem! There is a nice little park at the end of the block, no need to cross the street! Want to go on a longer walk? The State Capitol is just up the road along with 11 acre Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park that features a massive granite map of the state and the super cool Rivers of Tennessee Fountains.

Food for Days

Nashville is becoming a mixing pot for all types of cuisines. The honky tonks on Broadway serve mostly BBQ and American traditional, but Luke Bryan’s is the place to go if you have a hankering for sushi! Enjoy the dog friendly dining on the rooftop of Luke Bryan’s Sushi Bar! One of my favorite restaurants we dined at was in the atrium at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. We found this fine dining Italian cuisine at Ravello, the atmosphere was completely magical. Sitting inside the atrium at sunset, they light up the interior jungle with string lights creating the illusion of the night sky!
